History:

Portrait is mounted in an oval frame.
Notes: Nee Mary Edgar Vannoy of Nashville, subject married widower Charles G. Dahlgren in 1859. See Record No. 1.869. The family had a home in Beersheda Springs. They moved to Georgia in 1863 and to Natchez at the end of the Civil War. Financial problems caused Mary and her children to move to Nashville in 1870 while her husband went to New York to reestablish his business. The family was reunited in 1876. Charles G. Dahlgren died in 1888, leaving Mary with eleven children and four stepchildren.
