History:	The subject is a young child appearing to be 2 to 4 years of age. The painting is possibly from the collection of Pauline Wilcox Burke and is reproduced in Mrs. Burke's book Emily Donelson of Tennessee Vol. 2.History of painting here.
Notes:	Rachel Jackson Donelson was the daughter of Major Andrew Jackson, the adopted son of President Andrew Jackson, and Emily Tennessee Donelson. She was born in the White House during Andrew Jackson's second term as President April 19, 1834.
