History:

This portrait is of a man dressed in a high collared shirt and a jacket with buttons on the front. He has brown hair and blue eyes and is looking straight at the viewer. The wooden frame adds 5 inches on each side and decorative leaves have been carved into the wood. Portrait is considered to be in poor condition.
Notes: Matthew Barrow was born April 3, 1784 in Green County, NC. He was married to Martha (Patsy) Childress of Nashville in 1808 by Judge John Overton. He died at Barrow Hill, his home on the Charlotte Pike in Nashville, TN.
