promoted to Brig. Gen. on 29 July 1864.

Confederate General. Fought at Mill Springs, Shiloh, Baton Rouge,
Stone's River, Chickamauga, Atlanta, Dalton to Jonesborough, Franklin,
Nashville, & Murfreesboro. Spent last 47 years of his life in an insane
asylum. |
