History:

This miniature portrait is an upper torso view done in watercolor on a piece of white porcelain. The porcelain piece is covered with glass and set into an ornate frame covered n brown velvet and has raised floral and leaf-patterned mahogany wood decorations and it has an oval opening for the miniature. Portrait handed down through the Sevier family and was acquired by the TN Historical Society after 1939.
Notes: Catherine Sherrill Sevier, also known as "Bonnie Kate" was the second wife of Governor John Sevier.
