History:

Portrait was part of the Emil Hurja Collection that was brought to the museum by the Tn Historical Society.
Notes: Jackson came to Tennessee in 1788 and was closely associated with William Blount who appointed him as Representative to Washington. Jackson led major campaigns during the Indian Wars. He was elected President of the United States in 1828 and again in 1832.
