Notes: George Washington (1732-1799) was born in Westmoreland County, VA. He served as a member of the House of Burgesses 1758-1784. Then he commanded the American armies during the Revolutionary War. Washington served as president of the National Convention that drafted the Federal Constitution in Philadelphia. He was the first President of the United States. He died at his home at Mount Vernon December 14, 1799.
