History:

This is an oval portrait of a young woman with curly brown hair and wearing a white off-the-shoulder dress with puff sleeves. Across the front of the dress is draped a red, green and white plaid sash held by a white dove passing under her arm. She is also wearing a white dove earring. The painting has a dark background.
Notes: Mary Claiborne was the daught of Henry Claiborne.
