History:	This is a miniature portrait of the subject. On the back side, it is inscribed Painted by John W. Dodge of New York City Nshville Tennessee May 10th 1841. Likeness of John P. Heiss. the image is of an adult man, turned one quarter to the his left. He is wearing a black suit and tie with a white shirt. The miniature's condition is considered good.
Notes:	Only the name of the portrait's subject, John P. Heiss, is known at this time.
