History:	Portrait condition is considered to be fair. The artist shows a lack of skill by placing the subject's head on top of the suit coat rather than down in it. It is thought to be a wedding portrait. This is a match to portrait 83.30.
Notes:	Robert Morris Boyers was the son of Matthew Boyers, born in Ireland. Robert was born in York District, SC, July 18, 1788. In 1810, the family moved to Gallatin, Tn where Robert became a successful merchant and in 1815 built a warehouse on the Cumberland to ship and receive waterborn cargo. He married Elizabeth Banks in 1817.
