History:
|
This portrait is of a brown-haired girl, about three years old, wearing a blue dress with a white overlay. She is sitting on the lowest of several marble steps, holding flowers in her lap and a sprig of columbine in her upraised left hand. In the background stands an impressionic rendering of the state capital building. The artist's signature is on the left step. There is some paint loss and dull spots.
