History:

This portrait is in excellent condition. It is a full-figure portrait of the subject seated in an armchair. The subject's legs are crossed, and his hands are interlocked and resting in his lap. He is dressed in a black suit and tie with a white shirt. He has a white mustache and goatee. The painting is signed by the artist in the lower left corner. The subject and background are in somber hues while his face is well lit. This is a typical technique of this artist.
Notes: Morris Wilson lived at "Breeze Hill" which was a mansion that overlooked Franklin Road in Nashville. It was recently demolished.

Categories: Portrait paintings; Men.
