Description:Elbow-length portrait of a man angled towards the right. He is wearing a white collared shirt with a black coat and a black tie. The man has receding hair and a long gray beard. The frame encloses the portrait in an oval shape.
History of Work:Signed verso LRC: G Dury 1871. Artist worked in Nashville.
Notes:Sitter was a former mayor of Louisville.

Provenance: It is believed that the donor is a descendant of the sitter. - Bequest of Donna Blair Wooldridge
