He is wearing a military jacket, shirt, and tie, and his jacket has the medals and insignia indicating his service and his assignment. His short, dark hair is parted on his left. |
| History of Work: | Portrait was created posthumously from a photograph. Portrait of the owner's father given to her mother by the commanding general of Peterson Field, Colorado Springs, CO following the death of the subject in a plane crash while on active duty in the USAF. |
| Notes: | Col. Beatty was born 1902 in Athens, GA and died February 4, 1948. He is buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Memphis, TN.
