Description: Painting depicts the bay mare Belle of the Meade facing left, with a mounted jockey. The jockey is wearing gold silks with a red sash and a gold cap. The foreground is tan with green trees and shrubs in an impressionistic background. This mare had black points and a white star and stripe. She was sired by Bonnie Scotland.
History of Work: Frame is a mahogany molding with brass plaque inscribed, “Belle of the Mead.”
