Description:Portrait of a young girl, seated on a floral upholstered chair and facing nearly left profile. Her head is turned slightly toward her left, and she is looking to the viewer's left. Her hands rest lightly on a book on her lap, right over left, and she is wearing a soft mauve shawl over her dress with a bow or flower of a similar color in her long, dark and curly shoulder-length hair. Two drape panels frame the green wall behind the subject, and her dress appears to be ornamented by a large dark bow that is visible at the neckline and bodice.
