| Notes: | Subject grew up in Lexington, Kentucky, learning the stone masons trade. He returned to Tennessee to hia mother and step-father, Bright Harris, on Station Camp Creek and worked in Nashville as a stone mason. He fell in love with and married Mary Ann (Polly) Parker, daughter of Nathaniel Parker on 11 May 1820. He built Branham's Mill and a cotton gin on Bledsoe Creek in Sumner County, Tennessee.
