History of Work:This portrait was commissioned by the Vanderbilt Board of Trust in 1954 and acquired in 1956.
Notes:Harvie Branscomb served as Chancellor of Vanderbilt University from 1946 - 1963. Branscomb Quadrangle was named in honor of Chancellor Branscomb and his wife, Margaret Vaughan Branscomb (1896 - 1992).
