| Description: | Bust-length of young man facing slightly right and looking straight at the viewer. He has short reddish-brown hair and is wearing a dark jacket over a brightly patterned shirt with a yellow and orange-patterned loose tie. The background is mottled blue and shades of grey. |
| History of Work: | Charles Cagle (1907-1968). The artist and his self portrait were featured in Tennessee Historical Quarterly, Winter 1987.
Restored by Cumberland Art Conservation. February 1998.
The portrait was inherited by the current owner's husband (now deceased) from his aunt Susan Bransford Joy. Miss Joy was an artist and colleague of Charles Cagle.
