| Description: | Sitter five years old - blond curly hair - looking and pointing to a bird in the peach tree, painted in the spring - Subject had large blue eyes and pink cheeks - dress falling off left shoulder - white dress with ruching on shoulder, dress falls from the ruching on shoulders. She is holding a straw hat with blue flowers and blue streamers. Her shoes are white with straps across - 3/4 length white socks. Flowering buses in background - pastel background with several green trees. |
| History of Work: | Subject born in 1919 in Nashville, Tennessee. She loved the out-of-doors. She married Pentice Cooper in 1950 who was elected governor of state in 1939. He served until 1944. They had three sons: William Prentice III, James Hayes Shofner Cooper, John Normont Powell Cooper. She served as President NSCDA-TN and the DAR. She worked in New York for the United Nations Department of Public Information. |
