| History of Work: | Oil on canvas with gold leaf frame and wood frame. Paul Davis is the uncle of the artist. Portrait is a near duplicate of Portrait #1666. |
| Notes: | Banker and businessman. Born in Tullahoma, TN in 1882 - Died in May 1969 in Nashville, TN. Buried in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Bill Carey, freelance journalist, wrote in the Nashville Tennessean, "Paul Davis played a pivotal role in every important Nashville business transaction between World War I and World War II."
