| Description: | Young boy kneeling by bedside saying prayers. He faces to the viewer's right and his hands are together in prayer. He wears a simple white sleeping shirt. His eyes are bright blue and his hair is brown. |
| History of Work: | Portrait done in Hermitage area of Davidson County, Tennesse by a soldier in the Civil War. He thought the subject was such a pretty little boy. |
| Notes: | Subject born 9 January 1855. Married 30 June 1897 to Susie Powell Dismukes. He was the brother of David Burks Dismukes. |
