| Description: | Black and white copy of a man with white hair, waist-length frontal view. Hair is just below the ears and wavy at that point. His eyes are light-colored and his shirt white. A leaf-shaped object (?) is at the bottom center of the frame. |
| History of Work: | This photograph is the only record of an original by Earl. It is one of a number of paintings stolen from Cleveland Hall, Easter weekend 1986. The original was painted when the subject was 72, so the date of the work could be established. |
| Notes: | The subject was the son of Colonel John Donelson II, the captain of the boat Adventure that was a beginning of pioneer settlement in Nashville. Subject married Mary Purnell Donelson (see portrait #760.
