Notes:	John Wesley Finney served as editor and general manager of The Columbia Daily Herald from 1926 until his death in 1965. He was a member of the State Board of Education and an early supporter of a college for South Central Tennessee. A graduate of the University of Tennessee, he taught for three years before becoming a journalist. He was a veteran of both World Wars.
