| Description: | Oval bust-length slightly right profile of a heavy-set man with large, almond-shaped dark brown eyes. He is clean-shaven, althought the suggestion of a heavy beard is especially apparent around his mouth and chin, which is slightly doubled. His hair is close-cropped on top and combed straight back to reveal a hint of a widow's peak. It is somewhat longer in the back, nearly reaching the collar of his black coat and vest. His white stock tie and ruffled shirt are visible, although his vest is highly buttoned. |
| History: | Exhibited at Gibbes 2000. |
| Notes: | Subject was governor of Massachusetts.
