Description:Full length portrait of a seated young girl with a pillow to her right. She is resting her head on her proper right arm and her left hand holds a book on her lap. She is wearing a white lace dress with a sky blue sash around her waist and in her pulled back hair.
History of Work:Signed: LL: Carl Gutherz, Paris 1895 to his child Godfriede. Artist lived and worked in Memphis ca. 1860-1875. Portrait is of the artist's daughter painted while the artist lived and worked in Paris.
