Description:Three quarter portrait of Halbert Harvill sitting with both of his arms resting on the arms of the chair. He is wearing a black suit, white shirt, and a black tie. His suite has a red and white handkerchief in the left breast pocket. The frame is made of wood.
History of Work:On display in the Iris Room at APSU.
Notes:On August 9, 1946, the Board chose Dean-Registrar Halbert Harvill to succeed Dr. Philander P. Claxton as the Austin Peay State College President. Harvill had been on the original Normal School faculty. He was a native of Centerville, Tennessee. He served as president from 1946 to 1962.
