Description:Nearly full-length seated three-quarter right profile of a woman with auburn wavy hair and blue eyes. She is wearing a black evening cape/dress with a lace inset and the neckline and a turquoise blue 3-strand necklace. Her left arm rests on a table and her wedding ring is visible. Her right hand holds white evening gloves. The background is a red drape, suggesting velvet.
History:Work was painted at 405 Belle Meade Boulevard where the sitter was living at the time. Sitter was also pregnant with owner's grandmother.
Work was cleaned ca. 1985-90.
