Description:Three-quarter view of subject seated in a high-backed armchair and facing partially right with his arms resting on the arms of the chair and his hands visible. His right hand is clenched and appears to be holding his glasses; his left is relaxed over the end of the arm of the chair. Under the judicial robes a white collar and cuffs and a blue-patterned tie are visible. His gray hair is slightly receding, and his head is turned to directly face the viewer.
History of Work:Restored in 2008 by Cumberland Art Conservation after receiving considerable damage in storage.
