Description:Frontal full-length portrait of a woman seated in a chair with her feet resting on an ottoman. The woman is wearing an extravagant pink dress with gold embellishments and a matching crown. She is also wearing a dark pink and blue sash across her chest and a sky blue ribbon on her left shoulder, along with lavish jewelry. The woman's hands are clasping flowers in her lap.
History of Work:Signed: LL: Carl Gutherz, Paris, 1893. The artist lived and worked in Memphis ca. 1860-1875. Painted while the artist lived and worked in Paris. from 1885-1896. Original portrait commissioned by the Ladies Art Association.
