| Notes: | Ellen McGuire Mayes (1817-1890) was the daughter of Patrick McGuire, a wealthy Columbia businessman. She married Roger Bradley Mayes in 1834 and the couple lived a home built for them by her father. The home, now known as the Mayes-Frierson Home still stands on West 6th Street in Columbia, Tennessee.
