Description:Three-quarter length portrait of handsome young man in formal dress of the period: long black jacket over vest, white shirt with stand-up collar and large black neckband around the collar. He is standing next to a pedestal with his right arm resting on it and his left arm hanging loosely by his side. He is looking directly at the viewer. There is a red drape behind him and over his right shoulder, a low table to his left, and an outdoor scene on his left with a column that echoes the front pedestal.
