| History of Work: | Created as part of the Navy Artist Cooperation and Liaison (NACAL) Program for the permanent Navy Art Collection as the request of the Navy Chief of Information Office. |
| Notes: | Elevated as the first
woman unrestricted Admiral in the history of the United States Navy in 1976. This two-star naval officer served her nation, with distinction for 31 years. The Admiral died in 2002 and was buried in Arlington National Cemetery will full military honors.
