Description:Three-quarters right profile of a middle-aged man wearing a white shirt and tie and a black coat. His silvery hair is parted on his right and his sideburns come to just below his ear. The background is a red drape and a green table on his left has an inkwell with two quills, one volume of Pope (#5) and two volumes of "Overton Reports."
History:Restored by Charles Olin in 1968.
Notes:Originally loaned to Travellers Rest by Ida Thompson Dickinson, wife of Judge Overton's great grandson Henry Dickinson, in 1956. The portrait was donated to Travellers Rest in 1991 by Katherine Paty and Margaret Curry, granddaughters of Ida Thompson Dickinson.
