| Description: | Near three-quarter length portrait of a seated subject with her daughter standing behind her left shoulder. The mother is facing three-quarter left, wearing a dark robe with a brooch at the high v-neck, and with her right hand visible and resting on her lap. She is wearing a white ruffled cap tied with a black ribbon under her chin and is looking directly at the viewer. The daughter is also looking straight ahead. Her dark hair is parted in the middle and pulled back above her ears, and she is wearing an off-the-shoulders brown-striped dress. Her right arm is around her mother's back and her right hand rests on her mother's right shoulder. |
