His brown eyes are looking directly at the viewer, and he is wearing a high-collared white shirt, white loose tie, collared beige vest with button visible, and a dark coat overall. His hair is brown and is parted on his right.
History of Work: It is likely that this is a companion portrait to that of his wife Catherine Tannehill Stout.
