Description:Half length frontal portrait of a man with side parted gray hair reaching his shoulders. The man is wearing a white shirt with his collar turned upwards, and a brown overcoat, and neck tie. Plain brown background.
History of Work:Artist lived and worked in Nashville.
Notes:Sitter was a lawyer in Jackson before moving to Memphis; he was also a Confederate soldier.

Provenance: Given by a descendant of the sitter. Gift of Mrs. Phil H. Thompson given in memory of Mr. Phil H. Thompson
