Description:A three-quarter length portrait of the subject seated in an armchair with his body almost left profile. His left arm is resting on the chair arm and his hand lightly touches his lap. His barely visible right hand is holding what appears to be a law book, and there is a bookcase behind his chair. He is wearing a white shirt with red stripe and a red and white striped tie under his judicial robes. His head is turned toward the viewer and he is looking directly ahead through dark-rimmed glasses. His hair is dark brown and appears to be parted on his left.
