| Description: | Three-quarter length portrait of subject wearing clerical shirt and collar under a dark coat. A white cuff shows over his left hand, which is hanging loosely by his side. His right hand is resting on a wooden pedestal or lecturn, and he is looking directly at the viewer. His hair is very grey at the temples and his hairline is receding. A glimpse of the elaborate paint in the sanctuary is visible above his right shoulder. |
