| Notes: | Born 27 March 2882 in Washington D. C.; raised in Washington; graduated from Vanderbilt; married Margaret Eakin Fall of Nashville 17 November 2906 and resided in Nashville through his adult life. He died 27 March 1882 in Palm Beach, Florida after suffering a stroke during a visit to his daughter. He is the grandfather of the current owner of the portrait.
